This is my personal timeline of all The Legend of Zelda games. There is no complete timeline from Nintendo yet, but at least the lower part of my timeline (everything except the "Seal War" branch) has been officially confirmed by various Nintendo employees.

Elaboration:
- TMC is first, as the game's ending makes clear. Also it explains the origins of various items from ALttP, as well as introducing the ancestors of the Hylians, the Wind People.
- The conflict about finding the Triforce (i.e. "fierce war") is mentioned in three games: OoT, ALttP, and TP.
- The "Great Flood" branch follows the adult ending of OoT. It ends after TWW+PH because Hyrule is forever gone.
- The bottom branch, following the child ending, might possibly be continued after TP with games from the topmost branch (but not with ALttP and FSA since those conflict with TP).
- The "Seal War" (told of in ALttP) is a parallel event happening *instead of* OoT, in an alternative world that exists solely because Nintendo apparently felt like it. ;P That's why the topmost branch splits off before OoT begins.
- The game 古代の石版 (Ancient Stone Tablets) was a Japanese-only sequel for ALttP which doesn't feature Link, and possibly takes place while Link is on Koholint Island.
- As a matter of fact, both FS games feature the same Link.
- From here onward, Nintendo have the possibility to continue both the TWW and the TP branches with new Zelda games (TWW branch for non-Hyrule games; TP branch for epic Hyrule games).

Wow, I'v never seen a triple split inthe timeline, but it makes sense. I haven't finished TP yet, but gannongets execute or something? That's what I've heard. Some say Zelda 1 goes after Phantom Hourlass, because the land looks partially flooded.

They tried to execute Ganondorf some 100 years before TP, but he escaped. But at the end of TP, Ganondorf does die indeed.

I'm an opponent of the idea that Hyrule ever comes back after TWW+PH. I think the newly-found land will receive a different name.
